The owner try his best to explain the menu to an English woman, want to serve guest well, until the young girl staff come to work, then every thing solved. I don’t know Portuguese too, and I find the translation page on the menu. Staff polite, service good, nice local food and dessert.
Great place with Portuguese home made food - fresh, delicious and in good price.The restaurant was full of local customers. The staff is really friendly and helpful. Really worth visiting and their house wine -worth trying!

I had lunch at "Café Restaurante Os Moinhos". I ordered "Grilled swordfish with cooked butt and salad" from the lunch menu for 13 euros, "Breaded chicken" for 13,00 euros, and "Soup" for 1.7 euros. Un restaurant portugais... Un vrai ! Le personnel est très aimable. Une carte simple (et pas à rallonge comme les restaurants à touristes). Les plats étaient très bons et très copieux. Les seiches aux haricots... À tomber ! Une sauce excellente et les seiches fondantes. Des tarifs très abordables. N'hésitez pas à pousser la porte de cet établissement lors de votre visite de Tomar.

The best thing is to enjoy the wait with a glass of wine and a warm roll with olives. The customers are almost entirely locals. Marta did everything she could to speed up the service. Since we didn't have a schedule to keep, we took the opportunity to enjoy the moment and the comfortable and clean environment. The food was excellent! The Portuguese rice was delicious, followed by a vegetable soup, also very well prepared. We enjoyed it so much that we returned that evening for some snacks, when we had the opportunity to chat with the owners and learn a little more about the city's history and culture.
